The Good Soldier Švejk by Jaroslav Hašek

I firmly believe that ones enjoyment of a book (or film) depends on his emotional state when reading/viewing. So while I can see the appeal in this book and I agree that it can be quite humorous I lost interest after the first 100+ pages or so since it seemed to be a bit redundant. That is, the humor is of the same vein(absurdity) and each new adventure or episode in the life of the protagonist was described with similar humorous devices.
