”I set off, off to kill the man I loved.”
ICONIC! I feel like this book will forever stand the test of time.

Some other reread:
THIS. BOOK. THIS. BOOK. WAS. JUST. AS. GOOD. AS. I. REMEMBER.

reread: February 2nd-February 25th

“You will lose what you value most, so treasure it while you can.”
This book was good from start to finish and reminded me why it's my favorite. Things really started picking up in this series near the end of the second book Frostbite and this book continues on that track.

There's a lot of action happening throughout this book, the novices get to have a field test and get assigned to protect one of their fellow student Moroi's for 6 weeks while their teachers do surprise attacks. I absolutely love this part because we get to see Rose and Eddie in guardian mode and it also provides me with lots of Rose/Christian moments, I love interactions between those two.

We also get a change of scenery and travel to the Moroi Court for a bit to deal with Victor's trial and catch up with Mia. And we get some interactions with the Queen herself.

The ending of this book though...I still remember the first time I read it. Books 1-3 were all out and I picked one up after the other but I had to wait for book 4 and it was torture! It's such a heart wrenching ending on multiple accounts.

I can't wait to pick up book 4. Rose is off on her own in a new setting with new characters (one of whom is one of my favorite characters ever!) but at the same time I'm not ready for more heartache!
