Sally Rooney writes books for Phoebe Bridgers mentally ill bisexual girlies. So obvi I connected 🤪 an exploration on ‘modern-love’ but what does it mean about modern love with the best friend/ love interest is an awful friend and the love interest/ sexy older friend clearly is not meeting our protag’s needs/wants in the relationship? And then what you want to happen at the end is for her to say fuck it to them both and realize that she deserves to have her needs met in all kinds of relationships, but instead she just gets back with them both which is I believe supposed to be our conclusion with this book that love is complicated and messy and layered but I like our main character very much and I care about her mental health and I feel like she settles in the end .
Moderate: Chronic illness, Mental illness, Self harm, Sexual content, and Medical content
