This volume is different from the others insofar as it covers more of the events that are happening outside of Cradle with the Abidan, which are swiftly coming to a crisis point that could have disastrous consequences for all iterations.

Meanwhile, back on Cradle, Lindon gathers his friends together to secretly explore the Labyrinth to search for divine treasures, weapons, and anything else that will be useful, all unaware that Reigan Shen is already inside searching.

The start of this volume gives you a little break from the action, as almost everyone takes time to recover from the Dreadgods attack in the last volume, but then you are plunged straight back into the action, which culminates in several interesting advancements and revelations.
