Interesting idea but very mechanic only!

I found this book hard to get in to. The idea and the concept was interesting but the character felt monotone and just with so little about him as well as the story around it was flat. There is so much on the mechanics that also felt massively overly complicated for no reason. Yet all the same I am interested in where the world is going Even if the character just feels off.
