The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry
4.0
The Essex Serpent is... strange.
The story is set in Victorian England and shows people of that time as rather unconventional. Actually the way the book is written seems very contemporary British - everyday reality portrayed in mysterious light, with a slow-paced and solid writing. It is a book that is easy to read, but also easy to forget. Good quality without that little something, which would make it memorable. I won’t be keeping it.
