Brynn and Sebastian Hate Each Other by Bethany Turner

4.0

Listened via Audible audiobook. The narrator, Talon David, did a great job.

I’ve read or listened to all of Bethany’s clean fiction books. She always tells a good story with growth and humour sprinkled along the way.

Brynn is not a likeable person but you get the sense that she is not a happy person; therefore, you want to know more. Sebastian is likeable and fairly content but you feel he is hiding away from what he’s meant to do. He just doesn’t realize it yet. Bryn and Sebastian learn a lot about themselves as they learn about each other, despite having secret hopes to buy one another a one-way ticket out of Dodge.

The community of Adelaide Springs is so heartwarming (albeit eclectic!) that you want to go and visit. You can sing karaoke and get life lessons from cross-stitched pillows one day and go hiking and careening down a hill on a sled the next.

Seeing Brynn’s life realizations unfold, the real essence of who she is comes shining through. Under the unhappiness and snark is hurt. Facing that pain is healing. Sebastian make a few of his own realizations as they fall off the cliff of hate only to be swept up by Cloud #9, the Romance Edition.
