i think this is both one of the most brilliant and most difficult books i’ve ever read in my life. the writing is so compelling and enrapturing sucking you in and making you complicit in both partners’ narratives and you try to unravel what made this marriage fall apart. the ambiguity in gender helps to really further the confusion, gaslighting and deceit while also making the reader question all their assumptions about gender, abuse, love and relationships
