despite being entertaining and maybe a bit addicting because of the drama of it all, these books have become not only predictable but also repetitive. and this is nothing new, i had pointed out these same issues in the previous series that this is a “spin off” of. the plots are almost identical every other time, the characters are carbon copies of each other and there’s no diversity whatsoever, the way villainous women seem to always fit a stereotype of gold digging or the “crazy other woman”, and the author seems to always find a way of including sexual assault in his books. i’ve said it before and i will say it again, sa doesn’t equal dark romance, but that’s a whole other discussion in itself. but i’m the problem because i keep reading this books since i can’t leave a series unfinished and one of the characters from the last series didn’t get his book, solely for the purpose of creating this new series and make it its story be the last it seems.
