Living a Feminist Life by Sara Ahmed

4.0

The author's prose took me a few chapters to get used to. I will not call it dense. I refuse to say it is dense. It would be a disservice to her work. It is not a theory book either. It is just a book where she explores what it means to be a lesbian feminist of color and what does realizing you are a lesbian feminist of color means in this hetero-patriarchal world. It is part manifesto, part..."realizations".

The way she repeats things may annoy lots of people especially those who are not used to her previous works. This is a book that should be reread but not in one sitting though imho. The reader should take a break from now and then. I think I will visit this book again soon.

I absolutely adore the feminist toolkit near the end of the book.
