More & more often I'm finding myself reading books thinking, "Oooohhhhh this would be such a good film!" and this book was one of them!

I really enjoyed the dual timeline narration in this one, and loved that it took place primarily in the Outer Banks (a string of barrier islands and spits off the coast of North Carolina and southeastern Virginia, on the east coast of the US) because I've spent some really great time on so many of those islands! (Including Ocracoke, the island where the female MCs live)

I thought the premise of both timelines was intriguing (albeit occasionally slightly too convenient) and I really liked the main characters - both strong principled women willing that didn't take any sass from anyone!

The only thing that felt ~slightly~ lacking for me was the Big Bad character (oh believe me, you'll know them when you see them) because they were just SO horrible and I felt that without a POV from them it was hard to really wrap your head around their motivations (in theory, sure, but I wanted to really understand instead of just being told).

There is faith content in this book, and it's described by the publisher as "faith thread: medium" which I think is pretty fair. It all seemed completely appropriate and realistic, and I enjoyed its inclusion.

Ultimately this is one I will for sure find myself recommending!
