This was a solid YA fantasy with interesting characters, a diverse cast ( LGBT and disability representation), and an intriguing magic system. It also features a lot of swearing. And I mean A LOT of swearing. There is so much swearing that I am a bit shocked that this was even able to be marketed as YA. I think listening to the audiobook really helped because many of the names have Celtic and Welsh influences and are pronounced very differently from how they are spelt. If the authors are planning to release a sequel I would definitely give it a go.
