For horror movie buffs and those who love occultism, this fast paced supernatural thriller offers a nostalgic look into how film amplifies and celebrates magic, even the darkest kind.

Silvia Moreno-Garcia has become an auto buy author for me. Her novels meld historical fiction and supernatural horror immaculately. Her books offer insight into the history and culture of Mexico while also providing insane horror plots that scare me as much as they excite me. Her books are always very well researched and her author notes leave me wanting to research topics further.

Silver Nitrate is an homage to the film industry and introduces a very unique concept that movie making and consuming amplifies magic in this world. I adored the main characters relationship and banter and rooted for them until the end.

Cannot wait to read what Silvia Moreno-Garcia has brewing next!
