The No-Show by Beth O'Leary
5.0
Three women. Three dates. One missing man...
I think this is one of those books where the less said the better. I went into it blindly and although it is tempting to judge it by its title and assume it is a simple romance novel involving a man who stands up 3 different women - its much much more than that. I am guilty of furiously trying to read into every line to guess what the author is up to and where the twists or reveals are (if any) whenever I read a book and most of the time I cannot stop myself, its an innate subconscious habit! but this time I took it all at face value and chose to put a huge amount of trust into the author to carry out her plan in the time and order she had it laid out for me, the reader. There aren't many authors I would do that for but Beth O'Leary has recently become one of them and she hasn't let me down since - she didn't disappoint with this one either.
What I will say though, is you do find out why he stood all three of them up on Valentine's day. You get to know quite a lot about him in fact, and you get to know the 3 women too along the way. If you're after a well written romance story with layers of depth which reads almost like a thriller and keeps you guessing - then you should give this one a go!
