When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi
5.0
This is an incredible read. It's fairly short, and definitely sad (I definitely cried) but it's beautiful and hopeful at the same time. Paul has some powerful passages about going from being a doctor to a patient and reflecting on that perspective, which I found to be interesting. Even as someone who has not endured this kind of trauma personally, or to my immediate family, or have any surgeons in my life, I could still relate to a lot of his emotions and questions.
