Lament is the prequel to Ballad. It follows the story of Deirdre Monaghan who sings and plays the harp, and her best friend, James who plays the pipes. They are both gifted musicians and come to the notice of the Them. The story is described as "following authentic Celtic faerie lore" and is very dark. Enjoyable and quick read.
