Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
4.0
I started reading this last year, and didn't enjoy it. But then I pick it up again a couple chapters in and I couldn't put it down! I read the rest of the book (3/4 of it probably) within a few days.
I love the film, and now I love the book. I had to stop comparing the book to the film and just enjoy it as its own tale!
Sophie and Howl - they have a funny relationship. It's hinted at throughout the book that Sophie starts to like howl, but honestly nothing goes on romantically between them. Howl does ask Sophie what to do for the hat shop and she listens, aside from that I didn't see anything romantic? Though it was a sweet ending.
The way Sophie breaks the spell is clear in the book whereas the film was more hazy with it. I loved the elements of magic and how sassy Howl was, so good.
