This book is waaaaay too long for what it is but it's very vibey and holds up to how much I enjoyed reading it in 8th grade.
Beatrice is the only villain Gregory has ever successfully pulled off, in my opinion. She's beautiful, she's lizard like, and watching her scheme is fascinating. It's got gothic horror energy and I love that. Dunno if it's a book I could suggest to most people what with all the murder and the incest and stuff.
