Star Wars, Vol. 10: The Escape by Kieron Gillen
adventurous
informative
mysterious
tense
fast-paced
3.75
As expected hitting the 55 issues mark, this is getting a little boring. The story seems to be losing its thread, then finding it again after a few issues. At least Larocca and his hideous artwork is gone.
It wasn’t bad, but introducing a love interest and a warrior, just to have them either die or leave by the end of this volume… I’m tired of having new characters thrown in for the sake of being a side plot. Tula could’ve been a great addition, but it’s clear we’ll never see again.
And then we have Bad Batch 2.0 (Scar Squadron) popping up at the last moment once again. I swear those guys are just there to fill the void when writers can’t come up with something.
It was entertaining, but I’m glad there’s only 3 volumes left.
