Knowing myself, I was sure I was going to be scared anyway, but I was willing to take the risk and I was honestly so surprised! It was such a thrilling read and I love everything about it.
I must admit I only got to read it in November because my first copy took three weeks to arrive, then I spilled water on it and had to wait another two weeks for a new copy, so by the time I had a copy, it was already November, but the book made up for the long wait.
It's spiked with pop culture references (e.g. Harry Potter and Marvel) and really interesting Scottish ghost myths and stories.
I liked how the true meaning of the Red Raven to the story stayed hidden until the very end and as usual, the book created vivid images in my head. I would have loved to go eat fish 'n' chips with Cassidy and I might have gone to the In-Between with her if given the chance.
This book is supposed to be middle-grade and get children into reading, but I would think that if you are looking for a lighthearted read and you enjoy watching Ghostbusters and Stranger Things, you can enjoy this book as an adult.
