First time reading this. I think I may have seen a movie or something as a kid but the only thing I knew there was key to garden.

SO..., this was written and taken place when the British Empire was in India and there are some extremely racist remarks about Indians. Most of this are within chapters 3-6 (ish).

It is very straight forward writing and very easy to read.

Most people in this story have a strong personality.

I liked seeing gardening as something therapeutic.

The story is charming once you get past the first part.
