The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

2.0

I don’t know. I’d probably give this 2.5 or 2.75 stars if I could.

I liked some components of the book. I laughed out loud more then once. I liked Olive a lot. So much of the book felt antagonistic though. Only getting Olive’s POV made it hard to care about Ethan or believe the best of him.

Then to have so little of the story left and have to deal with the fall out of Olive telling her sister the truth about the sister’s husband? It felt like a lot to come back from and the fact that BOTH her sister and Ethan didn’t even bother to believe her??? Rage inducing. I almost stopped reading bc I was so OVER IT at that point. I finished because there wasn’t much left.

The sweet parts of this story, Olive and Ethan together, worked really well for me...but they seemed to be a tiny fraction of pages in a book that had almost 400 of them.

I’ve read mixed reviews on this one. Folks that felt like me and then others who adored it. This was my first book from this writing team so I’ll have to try something else from them before I can decide if maybe their style just isn’t for me.
