the Great Fire thats so heavily hyped up in the prologue only makes its appearance in the final chapter, only gets like 4 paragraphs of explanation, and starts in the funniest possible way that is literally not related to the plot at all. i found nina to be a little unlikeable even despite all her very real struggles. i also thought that the kids moment of closure in the final act was a little too sentimental and melodramatic, but thats just me i think most people wouldn't feel that way. fun read and emotional at times but not something i think i'd reccommend. the fire definitely should not have been the focus of the synopsis/prologue/title i think just because of how irrelevant it is to the whole story.  shoutout to hudson hes the realest one in this whole shitshow
