BOOK #10 of 2024: This book was a slow start for me. However, once the building for the pie shop is bought, it picks up. I love the small town community feel and spirit.

There are recipes between every chapter. I may save some. I thought there would be more of a totally homemade approach, not a can of soup or a package or koolaid, etc. I am a little disappointed with that but I understand that they probably had to find middle ground to satisfy more readers.

I really like Lovina, though I didn’t understand why her name was completely different than her sisters, aside from her nickname. She had guts and determination. I loved the spunk of her sisters as well.

What Noah was doing with those young men, and his own life, was touching. Noah was the perfect man for her, supporting her dreams.

I found it hard to connect beyond that but I don’t read much Amish fiction anymore.
