“I wasn’t kind, Jude. Not to many people. Not to you. I wasn’t sure if I wanted you or if I wanted you gone from my sight so that I would stop feeling as I did, which made me even more unkind. But when you were gone—truly gone beneath the waves—I hated myself as I never have before.”
Love this second book more than the first one. I love how engrossed I am with the storyline and the relationship improvement between Jude and Cardan. In this book, they are more dynamic both in their chemistry and characters.
The setting's explanation also is more enthralling and beautiful. I love how the other characters gave so many dimensions to the plot line making me experience so many different emotions.
The plot twist succeeds, I am shocked, aghast and have no idea what’s going to happen in the future. I also see myself being more attached to the characters especially Jude and Cardan, with their past being revealed in this second book, I felt more sympathy and care for their being, also finally their character arc makes sense because of the explanation in this book.
The ending left me gnawed, it’s a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next and last book in this series.
