I Have Some Questions for You by Rebecca Makkai
5.0
“It was the one where she walked around in her skin and her bones for the rest of her life but her body was never recovered. You know the one.”
This is a book about a cold case slowly unfolding and all the trauma it left behind at an elite boarding school. It’s not an easy read
Oh but I’m obsessed with how this story was told. The questions it asked. The way it doesn’t really answer them and leaves all of them lingering in your head.
This won’t be for everyone it’s flawed. The pacing is strange. Its long. It’s not a thriller, it’s hardly a mystery.
But if you want a hard read, a realistic read, a thought provoking read with incredible writing that sticks with you—I can’t recommend this enough.
It’s the one where I’ll be thinking about it for years
4.5/5
