Review: When We Lied is one of the most addictive reads I have read this year! Claire was PHENOMENAL with the creation of this romantic suspense sports romance and Finn will forever be one of my favorite book boyfriends! I was sucked in from the beginning and was not able to put this book down until the very end! 

 

Finneas Barlow is not what he appears. I loved the mystery that surrounded his character and the layers that Claire put into his POV and past. The mystery surrounding his foster sister’s death just added the enigma that was Finn. His personal growth in this book was next to none and it shocked me with how he went from playboy to obsessed lover within moments. Claire was truly able to create the perfect obsessive/possessive alphahole with stalker-like tendencies! 

 

Josslyn’s character was FIERCE and I loved how she was an icon all on her own even before Finn. Her take no prisoners attitude entranced me and made me want to find out the secrets she was keeping about Finn’s sister but also sucked me into the family oriented world she belonged too. The way she was sucked into the chaos that was Finn Barlow was masterfully done and Claire was able to make their meet-hate and subsequent lust seem raw and unfiltered. 

 

Finn and Jocelyn were the definition of opposites attract. The way Finn changed to belong within Josslyn’s world should have been her first clue how deep he was into her but the obliviousness she had just added to the intensity of the book. I enjoyed all their push and pull along with the dry humor and snark as they navigated towards their HEA! These two were FULL of the hate to love you chemistry and the explosion of their heat left no-one unburned. What did it for me was the point when Josslyn finally realized that Finn would do anything to have her and tried to confide in Lachlan and Layla, from Until I Get You, only to learn that Lachlan was an even crazier b@stard than Finn! 

 

I cannot wait for whatever comes next in this universe and will be ecstatic to listen to their audiobook coming soon! 

 

Rating: 100+, Claire did it again with When We Lied! Finn Barlow is FULL STOP book boyfriend material with just the right amount of possessive alphahole!
