I expected this book to be good, but it surpassed my expectations and is now officially one of the best books I read in 2022. The Atlas Six is the story of six young adults with extraordinary abilities who are recruited to join the secret Alexandiran Society. I’d describe it as having similar vibes to The Secret History or Babel, but with a dash of Hunger Games and a lot more magic. It was a little slower-paced than I normally enjoy, but the tension and conflict between characters was interesting enough to keep me engaged. And oh, the characters. I loved some of them and hated some of them, but each and every one was perfectly made, with flaws and quirks that made them feel very real. Blake’s writing was also gorgeous and captured the story incredibly.
