This is my... fourth time rereading this series. The writing, the hints and character moments that mean so much more after you’ve finished the series, the politics, and the perfect enemies to lovers! It’s all sooo good.
Don’t expect a hint of romance in this book, it’s largely an introduction to the two kingdoms and how their politics work. Damen and Laurent are trying to survive different problems and for different reasons. And they hate each other with genuine murderous passion.
They have a lot of growth to do over the next two books!
