Now that I can see what the endgame is, I wholeheartedly feel that this is one the best "epic" adventure comics I've ever read; the story and characters are engaging and the plot is simple, yet deep. There are moments where the characters repeat exposition, and you can feel that this was meant to be read over a span of multiple years; nonetheless, that isn't really the fault of Smith, it's the fault of the medium.
