How to Solve Your Own Murder sees us follow Annie Adams as she is caught up in a bizarre situation regarding her Great Aunt and a decades-old secret.
Annie’s Great-aunt Frances has always been seen as something of an oddity. Ever since having her fortune told as a teenager she has been convinced she is going to be killed in unusual circumstances. The details of the fortune are well-known in Annie’s family, but nobody has ever really taken them seriously. Until Annie is asked to travel to Frances’s home to hear the details about her future plans for the estate and is met with the discovery of Frances’s body.
What follows is a mystery that somewhat defies belief. In order to gain their inheritance, the three chosen relatives are tasked with discovering who killed Frances within a week, else all her assets will be sold. Annie becomes caught up in the investigation, while also uncovering secrets about Frances’s past.
While it always surprises me that the novice investigator in a case such as this manages to uncover details missed by the police, the story is entertaining and definitely worth a read.
