I think this might be one of my favorite Hildie McQueen highland romances. While this is a short book, under 200 pages, both characters weren't just loveable, they had personalities that didn't feel like a caricature like can sometimes happen. Lila cried often and got emotional, but she was painted as some weepy woman, but as someone who had been through a lot and just needed to release that emotion. Munro was also very dutiful and caring and protective, without being this overly masculine and strong guy. He was all of those things, but also gentle in the way he cared for Lila and their romance was so sweet! This story was just what I needed, and I can't wait for the next one in the book!
