Although the film is stronger, the plot moves slowly, before suddenly becoming incredibly intense. The Battle of the Department of Mysteries is a phenomenal fight scene (if a little strange... why are a bunch of psychotic adults fighting six teenagers - Ginny and Luna are not even 16!). Harry's exploration of grief and loss is perfectly written, and it culminates in another heartbreaking death that had teardrops staining my page. Umbridge is also a brilliantly written character.
