"Can I do anything?" I ask.
Now his smile softens. He touches my chin again. "Nah," he says. "This is enough."
"I'm not doing anything," I point out.
The corner of his mouth twitches. "Then why do I feel better?"
I was seeing a lot of mixed reviews for this one so I was a bit unsure if I'll like it but now I feel so silly lol because anything that Emily writes, I'll eat up! Since the beginning itself, I was hooked and as I read further more, I could find myself relating a lot with Dapne. She was a lot like me, a bit awkward, kind of dependent and lonely. So I could understand her more than Miles. Initially, I felt like I didn't know Miles at all because he was always so closed off but then slowly, his own past came up and I felt so bad for him. He needed someone like Daphne to show him what he actually deserved and that he was not a complete f**k-up like some people around him made him feel. Overall, I think I liked this bookmore than Happy Place and the side characters (except the exes) were also good, I really loved Julia & Ashleigh so much! They were awesome! And the way Miles & Daphne's relationship progressed was good too. I just wish the third act breakup in the end didn't happen though, other than that, everything right from the plot, characters, pacing and writing was perfect! I can't wait to see what Emily has in store for us next.
