3 ⭐️ Dislikes: My biggest pet peeve is lack of communication. That is a dumb lazy way to create conflict, and the plot ending could have been avoided by a simple verbal exchange.
Another issue is the lack of high stakes for Lara. Why bother going through with spying on him, what is she fighting for?
“Turning on her father now was an act of truth,” girl why? She has no connection to her father, no connection to “her people.” Her sisters aren’t being used against her so I didn’t get what she was fighting for. It made it hard for me to connect with the MC and understand her motivations. It also made her look a bit dumb.
Likes: As much as there are issues with FMC’s motivations and reasoning, I really did like her character. I also really like the MMC. I liked them together, even if I didn’t feel a strong chemistry between them in the pages. The simple
