The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center

5.0

To say I was excited to get my hands on an ARC of this book would be an understatement! It's terrific! I'm gonna need a better word for terrific. (IYKYK)

Charlie is a highly successful screenplay writer who writes an abomination of a RomCom screenplay. Emma is a hasn't-quite-made-it-yet romance aficionado who is tasked with helping Charlie do a re-write...as long as he actually accepts her help, that is.

The banter is on point, and there are some total swoony moments and completely quotable lines. Despite his initially brusque demeanor, Charlie had me hooked from the beginning. Emma is a positive, yet no-nonsense person who I couldn't help but root for. I will note, there is ONE scene in which I didn't like how Emma handled herself, but it's not enough of a deal-breaker to change my feelings about the story.

I really like how everything turned out in the end, and I enjoyed the brief cameos by Jack and Hannah from The Bodyguard!
