Oh the core group in this series Sunny is my favorite so far. So it was interesting to dive into his complicated life. For someone who is one of the most sweetest characters its heartbreaking to read about him being ate up by survivors guilt. For a kid to feel like a murder because his mother died in childbirth is a lot to deal with even if he did have a parent who was trying to be there to support him. However his father is crippled by his own grief.
This story is Sunny finally learning how to live his life for him and how to forgive himself for something that was never his fault.
The story is told in Diary entries and Sunny's voice is so distinct and interesting. The way engages in Meta Cognition as a middle school character something I dont see a lot of.
The way he conveys how he views the world is never dull, and I think that's what makes him so lovable, and such a joy to read!
