Nope.

It was unnecessary. It was repetitive. It was almost retconning? And I’m sorry isn’t Olivia the VILLAIN. I don’t buy her transformation from the end of this book to who she is during FitA. It’s way to stark.


The concept of humanizing her and giving her a tragic past was fine and even logical. However this story really didn’t do enough to tell me how she became an actual literal monster to her child and grandchildren. There’s a “seed planted” so to speak at the end but the transformation wasn’t good enough or early enough for me to believe this is the same woman.


It’s evident to me this was written by the ghost writer. Maybe VCA had an outline or plans for this but she didn’t write enough (any?) of this to count this as a relevant addition to the series.


Do yourself a favor and stick to the original Quad and nothing else.
