Dylan & Liv: The Sweetest Thing! 5 Stars
OMG!!! What can I say about this couple that will do them justice?! Words escape me! All I can say is that I enjoyed this couple and their story so much that I didn't want the damn book to end!
Dylan is a CEO and Billionaire heir of a car manufacturing dynasty. He has it all: looks, wealth, and a beautiful home. The one thing he doesn't have is a relationship and due to being burned in the past, and that's just fine with him. Due to a lie told, he finds himself in need of a wife, stat! Enter: Liv, a young woman struggling to make ends meet who works in a bargain basement clothing store. Liv becomes a professional escort to wealthy individuals who require the occasional date to a function without the hassle of dating. Dylan hires Liv with the expectation of completing the ruse and disappearing but neither are prepared for the instant spark and attraction to one another. The soon find themselves wondering where the pretending ends and reality begins.
OK... please don't take offense to what I say next. This is no slight in the least to the author but there is a reason that this book surprised me so much. I was surprised not from the story, plot, or characters which was absolutely phenomenal But, because the fact that it took me until 75% of the book to realize that it was written by a MAN (I read in the bio that he co-writes with his sister). The story was sensual, soft, and a relief for someone who gets tired of the uber-Alphahole personality that's become commonplace in romance novels today. I loved both characters and though neither of them was perfect, they were likeable, and I was able to root for this couple, which is a requirement for me when reading romance. *clicking the follow button on Weston Parker*
A satisfying HEA and bonus epilogue made this reading experience perfect. I'm so glad to see that there are many other books from this author to enjoy. If you are a huge fan of Catharina Maura's books, this one will certainly put you in the same feels as they do!
Happy reading!
