UPDATE: 7/15/21
It's been almost a week since I've finished TBG and my heart is still broken. I'm not sure I will ever be able to write a review at this point because every time I think about this book or these characters I start to tear up. So yeah, rather than a legitimate and coherent review I'm just going to communicate how I feel via gifs instead.
In conclusion: The Burning God and The Poppy War trilogy absolutely broke me. I want to say that I never will read this series again because of how much pain it put me through but...I'll most definitely do a yearly reread. Because apparently I love to suffer.
