Cronopios and Famas by Julio Cortázar
5.0
Each section was so different but so delightful. I loved its sentences filled with wonder and the reimanged discovery of the normal. The theme of underlying political struggle against dictators in Central/South America was present, but subtle enough that it skirted around the edges without taking up the whole narrative. I found the form of the book, divided into different sections, each with a different approach to prose and storytelling, very effective at portraying a very specific worldview. I sway between cronopio and fama.
