Magnolia is 19, just lost her grandmother - who cared for her for the most of her life. Hasn’t seen her mother in a years..

Dealing with grief, financial strain, and loneliness, Magnolia takes the offer of a modeling job from Cotton. Quick money, sure. Easy - not so much.

Though I haven’t read anything like this novel, I can say that it reeled me in and I liked it. Several weird twists and turns.

A hidden letter from Mama Brown that probably would’ve kept Magnolia outta a lot of shit if she’d read it earlier. But sometimes you must go through things, learning along the way.

This novel is described as Southern Gothic Horror and home girl wrote the Baptist church folks to the T.

There are a lot of spiritual aspects to this novel, which I appreciate. However, a few of the outer body experiences weren’t necessarily clear in regards to how it was relevant to the storyline. But that didn’t takeaway from the story.

This was a story on how people oddly deal with grief. What they’ll accept when their back is against the wall and how hard it is to just walk away. Satisfying the void, even for a little while. Also letting go when necessary.
