The author introduces each park with a comment made in a review on which the reviewer have the park one star or less. She's then says something sarcastic or witty about that person's comment before giving us a description of the park. I had gotten the idea the entire book was funny, which it isn't. It does make you want to visit (almost) all the national parks, though!
