Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn
4.0
A very fun ride and more believable than a lot of spy/assassin/secret organization stories. And the older women angle was pure perfection. The synopsis made me think of the movie R.E.D. and Helen Mirren’s character in it and I was down to go at that. I really enjoyed the story, the writing was natural and each character was distinct without being a caricature, the idea of the organization trying to be altruistic in its mission of assassination master was very interesting. The morally gray nature was discussed without being heavy handed and I appreciated that. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope more stories keep coming starring older women as the main characters where they aren’t relegated to the grandparent/wise sage figure.
