The Internet is a Playground by David Thorne
3.0
Fact. David Thorne is freaking awesome. Related fact. He already knows this, but it doesn't make him any less funny. I have snorted, guffawed and thanked heaven for my strong pelvic floor muscles multiple times as I worked my way through his posts at 27b/6. I suspect that we might not like each other in real life, which is more relevant than you might think, given that he lives in my home town, but he is too funny for this to matter. Luckily I have no plans for a career in graphic design.
His funny rating is 5 star all the way.
But his book didn't work for me on a number of levels. (A) he is most delicious in limited doses. Like in blog posts. Maybe I would have enjoyed this book more if I had just dipped into it from time to time instead of ploughing my way through from beginning to end.
(B) I had already read most of the best posts, which was a bit disappointing.
Moving right along to book no 2......
