I haven't read the original version of Anne of Green Gables, so my review will only talk about this graphic novel, no comparison with the original one.
The book tells about an adopted girl named Anne. Upon adopting Anne, the couple, Matthew and Marilla, actually expecting to adopt a boy, not a girl, with a purpose to help them work. But later on, they kept Anne because of her unique personality and her way of expressing herself. The story becomes more interesting starting from here. Anne's personality, the way she acts, I called it exaggerated at first. But later on, I fall in love with her character and everything about her, her ambition, her love for Matthew and Marilla, and the way she faced everything in her life. And at the end, Matthew and Marilla also love Anne whole-heartedly. They never regret for adopting her at first.
The book is light if you need a page turner one or a book to help you from reading slump. The story is super heartwarming. It's a happy ending book. It could lift your mood once you read it. Although I found some new words that's I never read before (since English is not my first language), I still enjoy reading the whole book.
"Its strange to love a place like you would a person, but I do!"
