Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
4.0
Funny little book. I see what makes it a classic; perhaps it has defined a genre. Some of it seems old hat now, but I can trace where some fave authors have drawn from this. Plenty good, well worth reading, I was thinking about it when I wasn't reading it; very interesting to make the protagonist nameless. I think I will be thinking about it for a long time. Also it was anticlimactic and I feel likely to recommend it to almost no one. I'm glad I read it but it's far from essential.
