The Time of My Life by Lisa Niemi Swayze, Patrick Swayze
4.0
I usually don't care about memoirs, unless they are funny or written by weird people (Steven Tyler), but I truly loved this book. The writing is much better than I ever expected it to be and, in parts, simply beautiful. When my dad let me borrow the book, I had a marginal interest in Patrick Swayze's life. I loved Dirty Dancing and Ghost, (geez, who doesn't!?)and I was saddened when he died, but I'd never really "invested" in Mr. Swayze's life or career. I had no idea of his talents off-screen, or the choices he made in his life - the most notable of which is the admirable and noble choice to just keep fighting, no matter what. I found his wife, Lisa, to be equally admirable, both in her talents and tenacity. I laughed out loud and cried while reading. I only wish I had known what a remarkable person Patrick Swayze was before he passed away. I strongly recommend this book!
