The Sisters of Auschwitz: The True Story of Two Jewish Sisters' Resistance in the Heart of Nazi Territory by Roxane van Iperen
5.0
I found this to be a compelling story. It amazes me that it all started with a family moving into a house and discovering hidden rooms while doing renovations. The author does her research well and creates a narrative for many voices of our past which otherwise would be lost to time. It was an honour to read and learn about these women, their families and their stories. True courage is what you do in the face of hardship and these women embodied what courage is. I found the translation to English well done. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good story about WWII and the courage and strength of the everyday folk who lived through it.
