This book isn’t at all what I expected it to be and I’m not sure I even fully understand what it was. 
Its about one woman’s life and journey of self-discovery and realizing all she gave up and settled for in life, but after she’s already married and her mother-in-law comes to live with her and her husband. The mushrooms and the dreams and the ghost music play much less of a role than I thought they would. It’s beautifully written and the author portrays longing so well. 
Also her husband sucks and i hate him.
